SAOMA Conference - South African Optimisation Marketing and Affiliates
The first South African search engine optimisation and marketing conference is scheduled for July 2011, when the Sandton Convention Centre will host the SAOMA conference, with over 30 exhibitors from all over the world
More than 2,000 participants, including businessmen, web operators and affiliates are expected to attend the 30 workshops that will run over the course of the conference, which intends to make available the knowledge, and contacts, that companies require in order to create a successful online strategy.
The conference is set to run for 3 days, from 09h00 on Wednesday, 20th July 2011, to 16h30 on Friday, 22nd July 2011.
South Africa Lagging In Online Marketing Success
According to an extensive survey conducted in the planning of this conference, more than 85% of South African businesses have an online presence that provides no return on investment, and yields no monetary value.
In addition, it is estimated that up to 25% of South African businesses have no strategy at all for positioning themselves online, as an integral part of their business plans and marketing strategies.
On average, the survey found, these companies spend anywhere between R10,000 and R150,000 annually on their web platforms, with generally only poor results. As the online market continues to evolve, in South Africa, and the rest of the world, this is a wasted opportunity for countless enterprises.
SAOMA Goals
According to the organisers, the goal of the SAOMA conference is to bring together the entire community, from web marketers and operators, affiliates, mobile tech companies, and marketing executives, to regulators and vendors.
